THE AUTOSHINE DIFFERENCE PROCESS

From the very moment you contact or call into Autoshine, you will speak to skilled trained staff who have many years’ experience in the refurbishment of alloys wheels.  Refurbishing wheels is our core business and not simply an add on to a bodyshop.  We do not carry out SMART repairs or cosmetic makeovers, we favour durable coatings comprised of time-tested techniques and regulated products from internationally recognised suppliers. We are not trying to compete with a ‘man in van’ who is unable to carry out the type of refurbishment we are whilst charging virtually the same. We have 5500 square feet bursting with modern equipment and people knowledgeable in their craft. You can’t get that in the back of a van! It does seem convenient to have a van come to your house and carry out the repair, we agree but what happens when it fails, and they don’t have the facilities on board to deal with that?

There are more and more companies trying to shorten the refurbishment process and cut out vital equipment and steps to increase their profit margin and give perceived value for money.

We use the same process as the manufacturer, powder coat primer and basecoat colour followed by tough acrylic powder coat lacquer. You cannot reproduce this in a van or by not stripping existing paint and powder coating. The manufacturers use the powder coating process as it's more durable and hardwearing. The wet sprayed automotive paints and lacquers are simply not hard enough and are not designed for this application or our often wet climate.

We are the only company in Cornwall to properly process alloy wheels on an online plant track system purely for wheels only. This computerised process ensures that all bake times are correct, and consistency of finish is maintained by carefully programmed track run speeds. Our ovens are temperature calibrated to ensure no over or under cure of your wheels.

This represents a huge investment in equipment, showing our commitment to offering the best process for your wheels in Cornwall.

All of our diamond cutting is carried out in house, the lathe itself is the size of a small van and weighs more than one! We have been unimpressed with the mini lightweight copies; they are not as precise and quality finish has gone by the way side simply to shoehorn into a van. They also rely on only a coat of standard car body lacquer to protect the bare metal. Other companies use a very old-fashioned copy lathe that removes far too much material from your wheel unnecessarily, as they treat every wheel type as one. We probe every wheel to ensure the most accurate data is utilised for that wheel.

TPMS (TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) Sensors are removed, checked and serviced in house when required.  We have full capability to replace the sensors, saving time and money versus dealer prices. We carry a huge range of sensors and valves in stock. Manufacturers recommend replacing the valves every time the tyre is removed. This does not happen! Tyre bays simply leave the valve in place. It then corrodes causing it to seize in place. As of 1st January 2015, a car displaying a TPMS fault when in for an MOT will result in test failure. We can help.

Please see the below information to help you make an informed decision when choosing the company, you want to deal with.

Smart or cosmetic wheel repairs, be them van based or as a bolt on to a body shop, simply do not offer the quality of repair that a company specialising in wheel refurbishment can.
